F E Peacock Joins Multi Million Pound Framework Agreement

A leading UK affordable housing provider has selected Bourne (near Peterborough) based building contractor FE Peacock (www.fepeacock.co.uk) to join its framework partnership.

Quantum Consortium (www.quantumconsortium.co.uk), established in 2006, is one of just 108 organisations across the country selected to deliver the Homes and Communities Agency’s affordable housing programme.

A total allocation of almost £34 million of government money means that the Quantum Consortium is developing over 1,000 affordable homes at sites worth more than £114 million in Leicestershire, Derbyshire, Northamptonshire, Nottinghamshire, Buckinghamshire, Staffordshire, South Yorkshire and Lincolnshire.

The consortium undertook a careful review of FE Peacock’s quality standards and prices before making the appointment.

The agreement means that Quantum Consortium can call on FE Peacock to build new homes or renovate existing ones without having to go through a lengthy tender procedure.

FE Peacock’s managing director Karl Hick said: “We are delighted to have been appointed to help the Quantum Consortium achieve its housing goals for the coming years. This partnership will help to provide a solution to the affordable housing shortage in these regions.”

The Quantum Consortium is the latest housing provider to sign a framework agreement with FE Peacock. The company has similar agreements in place with a number of national and local housing associations including the Northern Lights Group, one of the largest groups of housing providers in the UK, Sanctuary Group, and Cross Keys Homes, Peterborough’s largest landlord.
