Affordable Housing in Tennyson Avenue, Grantham completed early
Scheme delivered 6 weeks early
AFFORDABLE HOUSING READY FOR RESIDENTS AHEAD OF SCHEDULE
Bourne-based builder FE Peacock Construction has finished work on a much needed affordable housing scheme on Tennyson Avenue, Grantham, six weeks ahead of schedule.
The builders have designed and built the 13 property scheme for Boston-based housing association Longhurst Homes Ltd (www.longhurst-group.org.uk). The two-bedroom bungalows are now available for affordable rent and shared ownership – a scheme which allows first time buyers get a foot on the property ladder by purchasing part of their home and paying rent on the rest.
The development meets environmental building standards which highlight FE Peacock’s commitment to creating affordable, well-built and energy-efficient homes.
The timber frame construction being used for the homes is an efficient method of building which allows for quicker construction times. Timber frames for the homes were supplied and erected by Kestrel Timber Frame (www.kestreltimberframe.co.uk), based in nearby Market Deeping Lincolnshire.
Both FE Peacock and Kestrel Timber Frame are part of the Larkfleet Group (www.larkfleetgroup.co.uk).
Karl Hick, managing director of FE Peacock, said: “This development will meet the need for affordable housing in the area, allowing local people who were previously priced out of the housing market.
“We have worked very closely with Longhurst Homes to provide a first-class housing development.”
Cathy Aljohari, project manager at Longhurst Homes, said: “Longhurst Homes was delighted to work with FE Peacock on this development and are overjoyed that they have finished ahead of schedule meaning that local families can move into their new homes sooner than expected.”
