NATIONAL HOUSING ASSOCIATION SIGNS AGREEMENT
WITH LOCAL BUILDER
A leading UK housing provider has selected Bourne (near Peterborough) based building contractor FE Peacock to join its ‘framework agreement’ partnership.
Sanctuary Group manages more than 70,000 homes throughout England and Scotland including general rented, sheltered and supported accommodation and student and key worker accommodation.
Sanctuary undertook a careful review of FE Peacock’s quality standards and prices before making the appointment.
The agreement means that Sanctuary can call on FE Peacock to build new homes or renovate existing ones without having to go through a lengthy tender procedure.
Initially the framework agreement covers only properties in Sanctuary’s East Midlands region but there is scope to roll this out to a wider area in the future.
Sanctuary’s subsidiaries in the Midlands include Leicester-based Asra Midlands.
FE Peacock’s managing director Karl Hick said: “We are delighted to have been appointed to help Sanctuary achieve its housing goals for the coming years. This partnership will help to provide a solution to the affordable housing shortage in this region.
“We shall be working hard with Sanctuary over the initial months of the agreement to develop a partnering approach to any work that we undertake.”
Sanctuary is the latest housing provider to sign a framework agreement with FE Peacock. The company has similar agreements in place with a number of national and local housing associations including the Northern Lights Group, one of the largest groups of housing providers in the UK, and Cross Keys Homes, Peterborough’s largest landlord.
